Bonjour (that's French for hello... I think)

Howday y'all! Ok, so today I was feeling a little Frenchy singy da songy type music vibe, so I made a list of the main French songs I listen to a lot. I hope you enjoy this cultural experience. Unless you are from France; I guess you'll just have to wait until the next post...

Tais Toi Mon Coeur - Dionysos featuring Olivia Ruiz

This is the French song I have listened to the most. Not only is it a catchy tune, but it also has an amazing video to go with it. The story is quite sad, but hey, you can't feel happiness without a little sadness. I encourage you to read the subtitles so you can appreciate the story a little more, unless you speak french, then you can just listen. I'll allow french speakers to cheat.

Money Note - Camille

I first heard of Camille through her song Ta Douleur, which was featured in an SNL skit when Emma stone was hosting. I loved that quirky song so much, that I YouTubed her and found this amazingly humorous video. I love her reference to Mariah Carey too. The black suit man with a hulahoop is an amazing part too.

Berlin - Christophe Willem

Winner of the fourth season of Nouvelle Star, released this catchy tune in 2009. One of my online friends showed me this video and I was laughing out loud. His awkward looks made people doubt him, but in his audition, he showed he had the talent. And this hilarious video is only aided by his awkwardness.

Another one of his weird videos is Double Je.

Je dis Aime - Matthieu Chedid

This is a more serious song about spreading love... I think... but anyway, I just love trying to pronounce the french words in the manner he sings. It kind of sounds like he's having sex at some parts, so.... NSFW?

Sorry its not the whole video... the other video could not be embedded...

C'est Beau La Bourgeoisie - Discobitch

HAHA! I can't help but like this song. It is quite sleazy and she says "bitch" a lot, so it must be an automatic classic.

Ok, well I hope you enjoy this music. I have to go head to my first class of the semester which starts in 10 minutes, so hopefully I won't be late.... Wish me luck!

Bonsoir!
