Let's Be Happy! Part 2

Alright With Me - Kris Allen

One of the two songs I like by Kris Allen. See also Before We Come Undone - not very happy sounding though...

Next Thing You Know - Matthew West

Now I don't usually like christian music, but this is just too catchy to pass up. Another christian band song I like is Turkish Delight, by David Crowder Band (boy, that link was a pain to find...)

Lollipop - Mika

Um... cartoons and lollipops... Need I say more?

Pata Pata - Mirian Makeba

You better be swaying when you listen to this song. Ok, that's all for now!

Let's Be Happy! Part 1

So I've been posting a lot of slow songs and wanted to cheer this blog up. Here we go!

R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A. - John Mellencamp

I love John Mellencamp! I listen to him all the time, especially when I have to do chores or pack stuff. I also love his song, Hurts So Good.

Shakin' It For Daddy - Robin Thicke featuring Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj says "testicles." 'Nuff said.

Something Good Can Work - Two Door Cinema

I found this band a few weeks ago. I listened to their whole album and they are pretty awesome. Check them out!

Along Came Jones - The Coasters

This is an amazing song to sing along to!!! Especially the deep voice part. How low can you go?
And thennnnn? And THENNNNNN???!!!

Don't Stop Me Now - Queen

Cause we're having a good time listening to these songs, right? Well there's no stopping me! On to part 2!

I'm an Artist Pusher: Janis Ian

Here are a couple of songs from Janis Ian that I find to be amzing. I'll make a post right after this when I find some upbeat songs. My posts have been a tad depressing I think...

At Seventeen

Society's Child

See y'all soon!

Baroque Pop

About a year ago I went through a serious Baroque Pop phase in my musical life. The Beatles and the Beach Boys are examples of popular Baroque Pop bands, but imma show you a couple songs I don't think get enough credit in the minds of today.

Walk Away Renee - The Left Banke

I heard this song while I was watching Ally McBeal. In the show, Vonda Shepard sings it. Of course, The Left Banke's version is so much better.

Another note-worthy song by The Left Banke is Pretty Ballerina. I find this song a little creepy, but I like creepy.

My World Fell Down - Sagittarius

HOLY CRAP I LOVE THIS SONG!!! I can't tell you how happy I am to have heard this song come on my iTunes shuffle. After hearing this song, I needed to make this Baroque Pop post. You're very welcome.

P.S.

Little Bird, Little Bird - Elizabeth Mitchell

Haha, I first heard this song while watching a quite touching scene in S06E06 of Futurama. But this music video... strange... I regret posting this.

not.

I'm an Artist Pusher: Joshua Radin

I gotta just post something about Joshua Radin. I'm not sure how many of you know about him, so I'm gonna push him on you. Puns? What are those?

Vegetable Car

This is my favorite song by him, so I posted it first. Feel free to make it your favorite as well.

I'd Rather Be With You

Brand New Day

Sundrenched World

This song was used for a routine for Kent and Allison in So You Think You Can Dance, which is where I first heard of Joshua Radin. Thanks SYTYCD!

Sky ft. Ingrid Michaelson

You Got Growin' Up To Do

I hope you enjoy Josh Radin's work! See ya layta!

Swans are Nothing Like You And I

Ello, imma justa post a couple songs that popped into my head today that I think you should give an ear to.

Swans - Unkle Bob

I first heard this song in that scene where Izzie and Denny have that roundabout camera move in Grey's Anatomy. I had to find the song, and now I can only think of that camera move when I listen to it. I become dizzy at times.

Nothing Like You And I - The Perishers

This song was at the end of the film London. The beginning reminds me of the song Psycho Killer, by the Talking Heads. And the song wasn't too shabby, so give it a chance. Money back guaranteed.

Bonjour (that's French for hello... I think)

Howday y'all! Ok, so today I was feeling a little Frenchy singy da songy type music vibe, so I made a list of the main French songs I listen to a lot. I hope you enjoy this cultural experience. Unless you are from France; I guess you'll just have to wait until the next post...

Tais Toi Mon Coeur - Dionysos featuring Olivia Ruiz

This is the French song I have listened to the most. Not only is it a catchy tune, but it also has an amazing video to go with it. The story is quite sad, but hey, you can't feel happiness without a little sadness. I encourage you to read the subtitles so you can appreciate the story a little more, unless you speak french, then you can just listen. I'll allow french speakers to cheat.

Money Note - Camille

I first heard of Camille through her song Ta Douleur, which was featured in an SNL skit when Emma stone was hosting. I loved that quirky song so much, that I YouTubed her and found this amazingly humorous video. I love her reference to Mariah Carey too. The black suit man with a hulahoop is an amazing part too.

Berlin - Christophe Willem

Winner of the fourth season of Nouvelle Star, released this catchy tune in 2009. One of my online friends showed me this video and I was laughing out loud. His awkward looks made people doubt him, but in his audition, he showed he had the talent. And this hilarious video is only aided by his awkwardness.

Another one of his weird videos is Double Je.

Je dis Aime - Matthieu Chedid

This is a more serious song about spreading love... I think... but anyway, I just love trying to pronounce the french words in the manner he sings. It kind of sounds like he's having sex at some parts, so.... NSFW?

Sorry its not the whole video... the other video could not be embedded...

C'est Beau La Bourgeoisie - Discob*tch

HAHA! I can't help but like this song. It is quite sleazy and she says "b*tch" a lot, so it must be an automatic classic.

Ok, well I hope you enjoy this music. I have to go head to my first class of the semester which starts in 10 minutes, so hopefully I won't be late.... Wish me luck!

Bonsoir!
